About Dr. Olson
Dr. Olson is a clinical and forensic neuropsychologist licensed in the state of California and a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME). Her clinical experience includes providing neuropsychological services in inpatient and outpatient settings to an adult population. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of dementia, caregiving stress, and chronic disease (e.g., chronic pain, diabetes, etc.). Dr. Olson regularly provides cognitive training, involving learning and practicing compensatory cognitive strategies in everyday life situations.
At PNBC, Dr. Olson performs neuropsychological assessments to guide the care of individuals facing cognitive challenges. Dr. Olson also provides comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations within the state of California’s workers’ compensation system. Additionally, she conducts pre-surgical psychological clearance evaluations to determine a patient’s readiness for surgery, including spinal cord stimulator trial (SCS) and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Olson has engaged in research for aging and physically ill populations, and regularly conducts capacity evaluations for Adult Protective Services in Ventura and San Diego Counties. She has written books on strategies to optimize thinking abilities, and most recently, a book on mental health strategies for caregivers.
