About Cassandra

Cassandra Valdez-Brizuela is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Cassandra has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and families. Her professional experience spans a variety of settings, including school-based services, psychiatric hospitals, foster systems, nursing homes, and outpatient clinics. Through these experiences, she has supported individuals navigating a wide range of mental health concerns, including ADHD, OCD, autism, depression, anxiety, suicidal crises, adjustment to chronic illness, personality disorders, and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders. She utilizes an eclectic approach ranging from CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, ACT, and psychodynamic, personalized to each individual’s needs. Cassandra is committed to developing genuine and authentic relationships with the individuals she serves, as well as with their support systems and treatment teams. 

Coming from a small border town (Calexico, California/Mexicali, Mexico) she is a bilingual Spanish-English speaker, providing services for monolingual Spanish-speaking individuals, bilingual individuals and families. She strives to create a compassionate, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where individuals feel safe to express themselves, explore their experiences, and work toward personal growth. Cassandra is passionate about helping individuals develop a deeper understanding of themselves while building practical skills to navigate life’s challenges and improve their overall quality of life. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process and values meeting each individual where they are while supporting them in working toward meaningful and attainable goals.
