About Dr. Lawal
With over 15 years of clinical experience across residential, inpatient, outpatient, and community treatment settings, Dr. Lawal has developed expertise in the assessment and treatment of chronic mental disorders, developmental conditions, mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, and substance use disorders. Her training was completed at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Northwestern University, and Adler University, where she specialized in the application of integrative therapeutic modalities, including clinical neuropsychology, psychodynamic therapy, and client-centered approaches.
Dr. Lawal’s therapeutic approach is characterized by warmth, compassion, and active engagement. She utilizes a strengths-based model to facilitate patient insight into the roles and dynamics influencing their functioning. As a specialist in lifespan clinical neuropsychology, she has extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of a broad spectrum of developmental disorders, including Autism spectrum disorder, learning and attention disorders, as well as acquired conditions such as concussion, traumatic brain injury, stroke, movement disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. Her primary objective is to elucidate the impact of neurological conditions on behavior, mood, and cognition, and to develop individualized treatment recommendations that enhance clinical outcomes.
